Working Principle of Banbury Internal Mixer
The Banbury internal mixer is a closed intensive mixing machine mainly used for rubber and plastic compounding.

Material Feeding
Raw rubber, carbon black, chemicals and additives are fed into the mixing chamber through the feeding port.

Pressurization by Ram
A hydraulic or pneumatic ram presses the materials down to ensure full contact between materials and rotors.

Mixing by Rotors
Two rotors rotate
in opposite directions at different speeds, creating strong shear, extrusion, folding and kneading effects.
- Dispersion & Refining
Under high temperature and high shear force, the raw materials are uniformly dispersed, plasticized and mixed into qualified rubber compound.
- Discharge
After mixing is completed, the bottom door opens hydraulically to discharge the compound.
